A new Talk Group appeared for Lake County/Fire: Dispatch 4 - Countryside, Libertyville, Mundelein as Lake County Quad 4 fire agencies switch from VHF to Starcom21. The fire agencies still dispatch the first message for assignments, but additional communications can only be heard on Starcom21. The Talk Group became available in October 2023 on Broadcastify.com/calls (behind a paywall). On Friday night around 9:00 p.m. it was noted that the feed was not distributing communications that were occurring during a crash operations near the Mundelein Metra Station at 205 North Archer. OpenMHz was back in service  after an outage at 8:17 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022. Archived records before 8:17 p.m. remained logged, but were not re-connected to any audio. The outage may have been caused by an SSL issue with a third-party service, but this was not confirmed.

SUN DEC 18 2022 -- OpenMhz.com, beginning around Friday, December 16, 2022 has had a technical problem that skips through each audio segment and plays no audio.  The website is logging audio entries, but not playing audio. The malfunction is a reproducible error on Google Chrome, Safari, and iOS. The error might be caused by an SSL issue affecting a third-party host that servers audio files.

Sunday morning August 7, 2022 the CFD Talkgroups for Chicago Fire Department  OEMC (800 MHz) were noticed on OpenMHz. The start date for the 800 MHz monitoring on OpenMHz was not initially known. openmhz.com/system/chi_oemc  (800 MHz)*** ***NOTE: CFD has had trouble with the 400 MHz system, and has frequently switch to the 800 MHz system.

During mid-June 2022, Chicago Fire Department radio calls were switched to the 800 MHz talkgroups that are also available to Chicago Fire Department operations. The reason for the switch was possibly due to atmospheric conditions that were causing interference on the UHF 400 MHz frequencies. Degradation to reception was also observed on public safety scanning radios in Arlington Heights with increased difficulty understanding radio messages. Cincinnati police have found that their radios aren't reliable during sudden activity or bursts of loud voices, which occur routinely in stressful situations after officers respond to scenes, according to Sgt. Dan Hils, president of Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police Queen City Lodge No. 69. The FOP organization is considering suing Motorola to force compliance to fix the audio problems associated with the police radio system, which has also experienced dead zones where radios can't transmit or communicate even under normal voice conditions. The problems surfaced when Cincinnati Police Department upgraded their radio system and purchased hundreds of Motorola APX 6000 radios. Boynton Beach, Florida is progressing by a main radio system for 2.3 million. The new equipment is necessary for Boynton to be able to continue to communicate with the county. The 9-1-1 radio system will cost about $416,000 and the radios are about $1.9 million. Radios for police will cost about $1.35 million. Fire radios will cost about $422,000. KTVU has obtained an internal memo from Chief Sean Whent telling his officers that the system failed because of a "malfunction of the control channel." When that happens, the whole network goes down.
