Boynton Beach, Florida is progressing by a main radio system for 2.3 million. The new equipment is necessary for Boynton to be able to continue to communicate with the county. The 9-1-1 radio system will cost about $416,000 and the radios are about $1.9 million. Radios for police will cost about $1.35 million. Fire radios will cost about $422,000. KTVU has obtained an internal memo from Chief Sean Whent telling his officers that the system failed because of a "malfunction of the control channel." When that happens, the whole network goes down.
