RED Center is in Acting Ops 25 announced at 9:51 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2023. Announced on 159.66 MHz. Don't know what that is.

 North repeater 159.6600 NAC $925 and the South 156.1350 NAC $47B.

OpenMHz was back in service  after an outage at 8:17 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022. Archived records before 8:17 p.m. remained logged, but were not re-connected to any audio. The outage may have been caused by an SSL issue with a third-party service, but this was not confirmed.

SUN DEC 18 2022 -- OpenMhz.com, beginning around Friday, December 16, 2022 has had a technical problem that skips through each audio segment and plays no audio.  The website is logging audio entries, but not playing audio. The malfunction is a reproducible error on Google Chrome, Safari, and iOS. The error might be caused by an SSL issue affecting a third-party host that servers audio files.

Sunday morning August 7, 2022 the CFD Talkgroups for Chicago Fire Department  OEMC (800 MHz) were noticed on OpenMHz. The start date for the 800 MHz monitoring on OpenMHz was not initially known. openmhz.com/system/chi_oemc  (800 MHz)*** ***NOTE: CFD has had trouble with the 400 MHz system, and has frequently switch to the 800 MHz system.

During mid-June 2022, Chicago Fire Department radio calls were switched to the 800 MHz talkgroups that are also available to Chicago Fire Department operations. The reason for the switch was possibly due to atmospheric conditions that were causing interference on the UHF 400 MHz frequencies. Degradation to reception was also observed on public safety scanning radios in Arlington Heights with increased difficulty understanding radio messages.
